WHY RESTORATION ?

To maintain its natural luster and shine, stone may need to be restored periodically. Perhaps a proper maintenance program has not been kept up, the stone is not suited for the environment it has been installed in or for some other reason is not responding to maintenance. If this is the case then restoration may be required to bring it back to its original condition.

Do I Need Restoration ?

Whether for your floor, countertop or other special surfaces, Apex Granite and Tile uses the latest technology and products to ensure that your stone restoration project receives the most efficient and appropriate treatment.

The restoration or refinishing process consists of re-honing the stone surface, removing deep scratches and then re-polishing the surface.

Refinishing techniques may vary depending on the size of the job and condition of the stone. New or existing stone may have been permanently damaged due to neglect. Incorrect cleaning methods or using chemicals that are not specifically formulated for use on your stone product. Our experienced technicians are proficient in dealing with all of these problems and we have the equipment to handle any size job from tabletops and vanities to large commercial floors.

Highlighted Restoration Project - Cathedral Tower Nurses
With our experience, expertise and attention to detail, Apex was specifically chosen to provide its services to restore the original terracotta nurse statues from the Cathedral Tower in Downtown Vancouver. These 11' high terracotta statues of nurses have been distinctive landmarks on the Cathedral Tower in Vancouver for decades. Originally built in 1928, the Vancouver climate has taken its toll on these historical monuments. Apex worked closely with the Historical Society to ensure that they are kept true to their original form. Once restored to their original form, they will be installed on the new TEF-3 Research Facility at the University of British Columbia.
